THE ART OF LAW
Mr. Horne attended Eastern Michigan University (“EMU”) on both a partial athletic and academic scholarship. He was a recipient of the Jackie Robinson scholarship and was a four-year letterman on the EMU Golf team. During his senior season he was selected as captain and was a Mid-American All Conference selection. He graduated from EMU with Honors in Political Science Department. He went on to attend the University of Arkansas School of Law where he was elected to the Honor counsel and was also a member of the Christian Legal Society.
After graduating from Law School in 1999, Arthur went on to work for such law firms as Waring Cox, PLC, Glanker Brown, PLLC, and Stokes Bartholomew Evans and Petree, P.A.. In August of 2002, he started his own firm of Horne, Gilluly & Wells, PLLC, which later became Horne & Wells, PLLC. In fall of 2018, Mr. Horne stepped out on faith and started The Law Offices of Arthur Horne, III, PLLC, which specializes in civil litigation, with a concentration of personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, business litigation, class action work and criminal defense. Mr. Horne is a well renowned attorney who represents a multitude of clients, including, but not limited to, multi-platinum artists Yo Gotti, Blac Youngsta, and Moneybagg Yo.
Mr. Horne has been awarded in excess of $30 million from Class Action litigation on behalf of the residents of Cypress Creek against Velsicol Chemical Company, suing the PGA Tour and prevailing against them to handling a number of high profile criminal cases. Mr. Horne is no stranger to the courtroom and loves trying cases. His cases have allowed him to make appearances on such shows as “Nancy Grace”, “Snapped” and the “Golf Central” show on the Golf Channel.
Arthur is very active in the community where he formerly served on several boards in the Greater Memphis Area including the Mid-South Junior Golf Foundation (First Tee of Memphis), and the Memphis Botanic Gardens. Arthur was formerly on the Tennessee Human Rights Commission for the State of Tennessee, his term on the commission expired in July 2007. He was selected in 2005, as one of Memphis Business Journals top 40 under 40. He is also a member of New Direction Christian Church. Mr. Horne also serves as the Co-Chairperson for the annual Big Brothers/ Big Sisters golf tournament benefiting their reading program. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
Mr. Horne recently founded the Arthur Horne family foundation in honor of his father and grandfather which is a 501(c) (3) which will award academic scholarships to students in law and medicine annually.
